Camera House : Better Pictures 11
Picture Perfect Get your photographic prints from a professional and literally see the difference. Like most of the Camera House store owners, Nigel Roper from Croydon Camera House has had a lifetime in photographics. His father managed and owned camera stores in the UK and Australia and Nigel has been running Croydon Camera House since 1985. Of course, over the past 27 years Nigel has seen a huge change in all aspects of photography, and none more than in the finished image. With the introduction of digital photography the anticipation of waiting for the film to be processed to see how the photograph looks has been somewhat lost. Well almost. You can certainly see an image on a computer monitor and share the image in all manner of ways but nothing beats the excitement of seeing the photo you have taken enlarged in a frame, canvas and acrylic or printed with other photos to create a story in a quality photobook. “The variety of ways that people can display their images is now greater than ever and with the improving technology in cameras and lenses, the ability for budding photographers to produce fantastic results is also greater than ever, especially if they can get the right help,” says Nigel. Camera House store owners, like Nigel, and their employees have a passion for photography. They love to share their knowledge and help their customers to get the best from their photography and when it comes to displaying images, the Camera House employees can help to select the best images based on appropriate sizes and, by using Photoshop and other programs, adjust the files to give the best possible results. And being photographers themselves, the Camera House people are passionate about the getting the best possible finished result. “The ways to display an image are ever changing. Over recent years, canvas prints have become popular – they suit any décor and never go out of fashion. Camera House customers are now printing more than one canvas and then displaying to create a story. This is called a canvas cluster,” says Nigel. Camera House staff help their customers think outside the box when it comes to displaying images. A collage of photos can have 50 or more images on it and it can be printed and framed, or printed to a canvas. The result can be stunning. In fact, when it comes to printing and displaying your images, you are only really limited by your imagination. And whatever idea you come up with you can be assured that the folk at Camera House will be there with you to assist you in bringing creative vision to life. ■ “the variety of ways that people can display their images is now greater than ever.” 24 feature Picture Perfect 024_Bpics11_Print.indd 24 27/11/12 2:04 PM
