4 Products Hot new gear HOT NEW GEAR The latest camera gear set to sizzle. Enthusiasts will love this new DX format camera from Nikon. The D7100, the long awaited update to the popular workhorse, the D7000, combines incredible image quality with intuitive features and wireless connectivity to provide shooters with a DSLR capable of incredible detail and precision. Equipped with a 24.1 megapixel CMOS sensor and Nikon’s 51-point AF system, image quality is super crisp and rich in detail. The new sensor has been designed without the standard optical low pass filter (OLPF) to take full advantage of the available 24.1 megapixels and the result is outstanding image clarity from edge-to-edge. Combine this with Nikon’s new EXPEED 3 processor and image quality is expanded even further. A wide ISO range of 100-6400 (expandable to Hi-2 of 25,600) makes the D7100 immensely versatile – easily able to shoot stills and HD movies in challenging low light conditions. To ensure you never miss a moment of the action, the D7100 can also shoot at up to 6fps at full resolution and up to 7fps when shooting in the new 1.3x crop mode, something that will certainly appeal to the sports photographer who will gain an extra telephoto boost up to 2x. The 3.2 inch 1229k dot resolution vari-angle LCD makes composing images a breeze and pro shooters will love the new viewfinder with its high contrast OLED display that allows 100 per cent frame coverage. Sony’s latest addition to its Alpha range, the 58 opts for a 20.1 megapixel APS HD CMOS sensor and BIONZ image processor to provide super sharp images and fine detail. Able to shoot at a blazingly fast 8fps, it also features Sony’s new Lock- on Autofocus to ensure you always get the shot you want. Auto Object Framing lets you compose images like a pro, and the OLED Tru-Finder makes it easy to frame your desired subject. An extra-wide ISO range (from 100-16000) delivers incredible detail no matter the lighting situation. HD movies are also an option at a super sharp 1080p HD. Add to this any one of Sony’s 35 interchangeable lenses, and a range of in-camera effects via the new Picture Effects setting, and you have a very versatile camera that’s ready when you are.
